地利村

地利村位居信義鄉沿濁水溪四大布農族部落中央位置，頗俱布農族生態園區運轉中心的角色。位於濁水溪畔的地利村，是南投縣最早成立的山地示範村，以栽種檳榔、龍鬚菜、小米為主要產業。

　　因地形豐富、文化歷史深遠，故造就當地觀光產業契機，近年在地方「達瑪巒原住民重生協會」的積極推動下，地利村已漸發展為一原住民觀光新部落；希冀透過了原住民高山生態旅遊的觀光新導向，讓更多的人來到地利，感受到地利的群山之美與部落風情。

　　沿十六號省道前往著名的七彩湖，途中便會經過地利村。

布農族人早在20世紀初年，就住在1千到2千3百公尺高的地區，在東南亞族群中，屬於高海拔的族群。歷年來專門研究台灣土著的學者認為：布農族是所有土著中，活動力最強，移動率最大的族群，而且最適合高山生活，所以有「典型山地人」或「縱橫中央山脈的山地人（原住民）」之稱。
